This is one of the best choices for visitors with kids in tow, because it lies in the suburb of Nymphenburg, one of the most famous attractions of Munich, known for its beautiful gardens and leafy parks. From the front door of this well-run establishment, you and the children can walk over to the entrance to Schloss Nymphenburg. For Dad, there is also nearby Hirschgarten Park, site of the biggest beer garden in Europe. The government-rated three-star hotel is run exceptionally well with an accommodating staff. Everything is fresh and immaculately kept, including the shower-only bathrooms. The more spacious rooms contain a corner sofa, which can be converted for use as a three- or four-bed family room. In the morning, there's an elaborate buffet breakfast, and at night you can drink beer or wine in Kriemhild's cozy Bavarian-styled tavern.
