This hotel became prominent when it was voted the most popular government-rated hotel in all of Germany in 1998. A member of the Small Elegant Hotels of the World, the Monaco is still as highly regarded as when it first came to prominence. If we judged a hotel by its generous Bavarian breakfast buffet, we'd rate this one a winner. But its bedrooms, which are spacious, modern, and decorated for comfort, make the Monaco appealing as well. Many rooms can be rented for three guests, making it a favorite with families. Personal service is another feature of this family-run hotel only a few steps from the Hauptbahnhof. Rates are seasonally adjusted; at certain times of the year, such as Oktoberfest, they rise to their highest, but drop to rock bottom in winter.
