Frommer's Very Highly Recommended

The deceptively simple facade hides a sweet and very hospitable little B&B, complete with two small courtyards and a fountain. It's located in the Faubourg Marigny next to the bustling nighttime Frenchmen scene, a 10-minute walk or short cab ride to the Quarter. Owners Rob Boyd and Kevin Wu went to ingenious lengths to turn six oddly shaped spaces into comfortable rooms. No two rooms are alike -- you enter one through its bathroom. Another room is more like a small, two-story apartment with the bedroom upstairs and a virtually full kitchen downstairs. All are carefully and thoughtfully decorated. Rob (who designs jewelry, some of which has been worn by Mary J. Blige and Oprah) and Kevin (a trained masseuse who can treat you in your room) are adept at giving advice -- and strong opinions -- not just about the city but about their own local favorites. Breakfast is light (fruit, homemade breads) but beautifully presented.
