Long known to frugal travelers, the Castex lies on the fringe of both the Bastille sector and the Marais. Warning: There's no elevator and the TV is in the lounge. Bedrooms have been restored and decorated in a 17th-century style with Louis XIII furnishings along with touches of wrought iron against Toile de Jouy wallpaper. Several of the units open onto a courtyard patio that bursts into full bloom in the spring.
