This jewel box was the embassy of Texas when that state was a nation. The hotel opened in 1998 at one of the world's most prestigious addresses. It is comparable to the Hôtel Costes but with a less-flashy clientele. Though the guest rooms are moderate in size, they're opulent and designed in classic Second Empire style, with luxurious beds and well-upholstered, handcarved furnishings. Suites have generous space and such extras as blackout draperies and quadruple-glazed windows. The security is fantastic, with TV intercoms.
