This renovated apartment building at the center of Old San Juan gives you a sense of how sanjuaneros live in the historic quarter, with rooms wrapped around a prominent interior courtyard. It's right on Old San Juan's central Plaza de Armas, also home to San Juan City Hall and the Puerto Rico State Department. Like those at Hotel Milano (above), these are clean, comfortable rooms in the heart of the city. Visitors here know what to expect, and they leave satisfied. There are several spots for a meal, including an open-air cafe on the plaza serving tasty local coffee, as well as two drugstores, a supermarket, and Marshall's Department store -- plus this is conveniently near all Old San Juan attractions. The entire plaza has Wi-Fi Internet access. Continental breakfast is served in the lobby.
