Part of the trendy Xintiandi dining and entertainment complex in the heart of the French Concession, this small luxury boutique hotel in the toniest of surroundings screams urban chic. All rooms here are plush residences, tastefully decorated with a combination of modern amenities, Chinese furnishings, and large comfortable beds. Other welcome perks include a fax machine, free broadband connection, and kitchen facilities. Lake views are pleasant and worth the extra ¥200 ($29/£15), and service is fine though not particularly memorable.
