Located just south of the Regal International Hotel, this four-star French modern hotel, formerly the Picardie Apartments built in 1934, was given a thorough touch-up in 2007, and now offers a comfortable stay at reasonable prices. Rooms are spacious and equipped with modern furniture and full amenities. If all the standard rooms are being discounted to the same rate (as they often are), be sure to ask for the higher-end deluxe standards, as these have large bathrooms that come with separate tub and shower and even a television set. Service has improved greatly from a few years ago. It's a short walk to the subway, shops, and restaurants just up Hengshan Lu, and only a slightly longer walk to the Xujiahui area to the south.
