Frommer's Highly Recommended
On 20 hectares (50 acres), and with only a few guest dwellings, this is the ultimate nature retreat on island and certainly the most eco-friendly. Its bay was one of the locations for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Lying a 10-minute boat ride from Buccament Bay, it provides airport transfers for guests, plus a water taxi to the island. The scuba and snorkeling are the best in the area, and there are hikes to the rainforest to waterfalls and a volcano. Comfortable cabins come with wood floors, private decks, solar-powered lighting, private bathrooms (with solar-heated rainwater showers), and private decks for sunning. Meals are home cooked with regional produce.
