When we first checked into this establishment, it was a youth hostel. Those days are long gone. Although still owned by the Swedish version of the YWCA and YMCA, the hotel is vastly improved and upgraded, and that's reflected in its prices. It's no longer $25 a night, but you still get good value and a warm welcome here. Rooms, although small, are tastefully and comfortably furnished in the latest Swedish modern style. The building itself is well maintained and up-to-date, and many of the rooms open onto good views of the cityscape -- it's in a residential neighborhood scattered with stores and private apartments. Bathrooms are well organized and a bit tiny, but each comes with modern plumbing such as showers. A number of simple and rather small budget rooms are also rented on the ground floor, each with two bunk beds in each room. These bargains can accommodate up to four guests.
