Frommer's Very Highly Recommended
This massive Hilton is set far back from Ha-Yarkon Street in a small park overlooking a quiet, sheltered lagoon. Built in the 1960s, it was completely redone from 1998 to 1999. The Hilton's state-of-the-art business center is unrivaled and always buzzing with international activity. The hotel also offers vacationers a full range of recreational facilities. Better-category rooms are stylish and among the best in Tel Aviv; a variety of suites are offered (one has a Jacuzzi beside a corner window with spectacular views). All rooms have balconies. Restaurant facilities (including a kosher sushi bar) are top quality and varied. The location is a bit of a hike from the major streets of interest. The fitness center is superb, and the sheltered Hilton beach is among the best in town; a large saltwater swimming pool, heated in winter, is unique among Tel Aviv hotels. The staff is efficient, but to some, a bit self-important.
