It's made a comeback. In the 1950s, it was the hottest ticket in town. Rita Hayworth and Robert Mitchum even stayed here when they made
Fire Down Below in 1957. In romantic legend, the inn stands at the place where Robinson Crusoe was stranded in 1659 in the Defoe novel. Elegantly furnished bedrooms open onto panoramic views of the water -- the inn is, in fact, surrounded on three sides by the sea and opens onto a secluded beach of fine white sands. Guests walk on wooden floors, and there's a glass wall separating the bedrooms from the sleekly modern bathrooms. Guests have several options for lodging, ranging from standard doubles to deluxe suites, plus two-bedroom villas with a private pool. All accommodations come with private balconies with ocean views.
