This landmark hotel has a lovely white-sand-beach setting that offers good swimming and snorkeling. Twenty-seven rooms occupy modern two-story town houses, each with oceanfront verandas, but 12 more units are located in the older building across the street. Some rooms have kitchenettes, but all contain ceiling fans and fridges plus small bathrooms with tub/shower combinations. (Rooms on the upper floors are larger and have higher ceilings.) Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in
Michael's Atrium Restaurant, which specializes in local and Jamaican dishes. It's located in the Atrium across the street. A lunch and dinner tapas menu is served at the
Birdcage Bar & Restaurant, with tables set up around the hotel pool; on Sunday and Wednesday nights, the whole of Duke Street and beyond congregates for the
poolside barbecue buffet ($14-$26/£7-£13) and the toe-tapping ripsaw music of "dive-master troubadour" Mitch Rolling and the High Tide.
