Even though its charm is not immediately visible, this modern, many-balconied hotel enjoys one of the highest return-booking rates on St. Thomas. It's especially favored by business travelers and sports teams, who are willing to forsake the atmosphere of the historic properties. The hotel is designed around a massive atrium, which is loaded with tropical plants and has a pleasant cafe and brasserie. The harbor-front rooms have views of some of the world's largest cruise ships, and are subject to noise from the busy Waterfront Boulevard. Many frequent visitors request a room overlooking the adjacent Emile Griffith Park, where baseball games, floodlit at night, provide entertainment. We still opt for the oceanview rooms in spite of the greater noise from traffic. The hotel provides a shuttle to Magens Bay Beach.
