In 1988, this heritage building was turned into a hotel, restaurant, brewpub, and nightclub. Located near the Johnson Street Bridge, it's now one of Old Town's best-loved buildings, and just minutes from Bastion Square, Chinatown, and downtown. Like any good boutique hotel, Swans is small, friendly, and charming. The suites are large and many are split-level, featuring open lofts and huge exposed beams. All come with fully equipped kitchens, dining areas, living rooms, queen-size beds, and original artwork. The two-bedroom suites are like little town houses; they're great for families, accommodating up to six comfortably. Want a room with your own totem pole? The sumptuous 279-sq.-m (3,003-sq.-ft.) penthouse suite comes with a collection of original Pacific Northwest art, a state-of-the-art kitchen, dining room, a spacious bedroom and guest room, and a deck with panoramic city/harbor views and a hot tub that seats 10. Swan's Brew Pub is one of the most popular in the city and features nightly live entertainment. The one drawback to this otherwise fine hotel is that a homeless shelter is located across the street where drop-outs and druggies may hang around.
