Rising to a height of 14 stories, the Torni was the first \"skyscraper\" built in Helsinki (1931) and many irate locals demanded that it be torn down. Nevertheless, it prospered and has become the number-one choice for visiting celebrities. The recently renovated rooms are contemporary, with big windows and carpeting. The finest units are those in the tower, but all the rooms are average in size, with double-glazed windows; bathrooms are fully tiled with tub/shower combos.
