Built anew within a wide 18th-century building on a canal above Raadhuisstraat and four small 16th-century houses directly behind it on the Singel canal, this hotel is best described as basic. But rooms (which come in a variety of sizes and shapes) tend to be large. Some still have their old fireplaces adorned with elegant wood or marble mantels, though these furnaces no longer function. As you walk around, you'll occasionally pass through a former foyer on the way to your room, or glimpse an old beam.
