You pass through a covered bridge just off Route 100 to arrive at one of my favorite romantic B&Bs in northern New England, a regal barn and farmhouse on 235 sloping acres with views of fields all around. The centerpiece of the inn is the Round Barn, a strikingly beautiful 1910 structure that's used for weddings, art exhibits, and Sunday church services. Each guest room is furnished with an understated country elegance. The less expensive rooms in the older part of the house are comfortable, if small; larger luxury units in the attached horse barn feature stunning soaring ceilings under old log beams and include extras such as steam showers, gas fireplaces, and phones.
