This four-story establishment offers a sophisticated blend of chain-motel convenience and boutique-hotel features -- such as a \"soap menu.\" Guest rooms are spacious, with sleek but comfy contemporary furnishings, and are at least one floor up from the busy street. Room rates include wireless Internet access and 30 minutes of local phone calls. The hotel underwent a $3-million renovation in 2003 and added an exercise room in 2005. The commercial neighborhood is nothing to write home about, but the pool and free parking and breakfast help make up for the less-than-scenic location. A 2 1/2-mile jogging trail circles Fresh Pond across the street. A restaurant is next door, and a shopping center with a 10-screen movie theater is nearby. Boston lies about a 15-minute drive or a 30-minute T ride away; Lexington and Concord are less than a half-hour away by car.
