Staying here is like being on one of the luxury ocean-going liners you see docked across the port, minus the seasickness. It's located in the World Trade Center on the large jetty (Moll de Barcelona), opposite the Drassanes Maritim Museum. No other hotel in the city gets this close to the sea, and few can compare when it comes to design. Its architects were Henry Cobb and I. M. Pei -- the man behind the pyramid at the Louvre -- and it's crammed with artworks and sculpture offset by marble and glass architectural details that give it a distinctly 21st-century feel. A testament to minimalism, the overall look is bright and airy with an overriding feeling of space. The bedrooms, which all have en-suite bathrooms and Jacuzzis, are sleekly designed and plush without being claustrophobic. The Presidential Suite on the roof has magnificent views across the port to the city.
