With the iconic granite peaks known as "Dois Irmãos" (Two Brothers) towering above the western end of the beach, Ipanema is over-charged with natural beauty. The beach is also duly famous for its sexy beachgoers (think: "The Girl from Ipanema") who tend to congregate around Posto 9 lifeguard tower.
