Getting from point A to point B can get extremely complicated when you're traveling with an animal. Depending on where you're going, especially when flying internationally, you could be looking at miles of red tape and a foot-high stack of forms. Pet travel agent Barbara DeBry's specialty is negotiating such difficult situations. "I had one client," she says, "who refused to put her dog—and it was a German shepherd—in the belly of the aircraft." (Large dogs are not permitted in-cabin.) DeBry solved the problem by booking owner and dog onto a freight plane.
