A lounge/club hybrid, Sonothèque is a bright, minimalist-chic alternative to the standard industrial-style megaclub. With white walls and banquettes, dark wood floors and neon-blue lighting, it looks like a hipster art gallery that just happens to have a killer sound system. The soundtrack is one of the most eclectic in the city -- everything from African beats to jazz-soul to '80s new wave -- and DJs are showcased doing their thing from a glass-enclosed booth in the middle of the dance floor. That dance floor, unfortunately, is narrow and crowded, so don't come here expecting to throw down your best moves.
