Ruth Price's nonprofit venue is renowned for attracting some of the most important names in jazz -- and for the restored Helms bakery factory that houses the club and inspires its name. Hers is a no-frills, volunteer-run, all-about-the-music, 7-nights-a-week nonprofit venue where iconic musicians turn up regularly to the delight of serious jazz fans. There's a no-food policy for the theater, but the lobby cafe sells beer, wine, and champagne that you can bring in.
