Among the newer clubs to open (late 2006), Azul 96 is known more for its sand-floored, rooftop Sky Bar than its sleek ground-floor restaurant, which specializes in traditional gourmet fare. The architecture is stunning, but most people pass by as they climb the stairs or take the elevator to the bar upstairs, with its panoramic views of the city. A long glass bar borders one side and serves sushi along with cocktails. In the "sandy beach" area, partiers settle into high tables or banquettes to enjoy the energizing dance music. The Sky Bar is open daily from 8pm to 4am.
