One of the city's most long-lived nightlife venues, with a history that dates from the late 1960s, is open only 4 nights a week, with a well-entrenched schedule that many of the city's gay men memorized long ago. Every Friday and Saturday night, it functions as a disco, attracting danceaholics in their 20s and 30s who pay an entrance charge of 5€ ($6), which entitles them to the first drink free. Doors open at 9pm; dancing starts in earnest around 10 or 10:30pm and continues till dawn. The venue is radically different every Thursday and Sunday, when cross-dressing artistes play to a gay and, to a lesser degree, straight crowd for a 2-hour act that begins at 9pm. On cabaret nights, doors open at 8pm, and the place is empty after midnight. The cover charge at the cabaret costs 8€ ($9.60), and beer, depending on the brand, sells for between 4€ and 5€ ($4.80-$6) each.
