Every time I update this guide, there's a New Hot Spot, which is full of spark, but by the time I make my next update it has either fallen asleep or is gone. Thumper's held ground, though, with a steady stream of high-profile celebs keeping it hip. It does have one timeless feature, a really nice outdoor terrace for happy hour cocktails as the sun sets over Scotts Road. In the early evenings, you'll hear live soul singers, and later in the evening a live funk band gets the dance floor moving. Open Monday and Tuesday 6pm to 2am, Wednesday and Thursday 6pm to 3am, and Friday and Saturday 6pm to 4am. There is a happy hour daily 11am to 9pm.
