Rising from the ashes on the very spot where jazz greats such as Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and so many others performed decades ago, Bohemian Caverns hopes to establish that same presence and host today's jazz stars, but has a way to go. The Caverns is actually three venues. Downstairs is the jazz club, whose decor is cavelike, as it was in the '20s. The club's performance schedule seems to fluctuate quite a bit, but when in full swing, hosts two performances nightly. At street level is Mahogany, the restaurant, whose entrees are named after jazz legends and start at about $19. The two upper floors comprise Liv, a nightclub, bar, and hip-hop lounge.
