Brickskeller
If you like beer and you like choices, head for the Brickskeller, which has been around for about 50 years and offers more than 1,000 beers from around the world. If you can't make up your mind, ask one of the waiters, who tend to be knowledgeable about the brews. The tavern draws students, college professors, embassy types, and people from the neighborhood. Brickskeller is a series of interconnecting rooms filled with gingham-tableclothed tables (upstairs rooms are open only weekend nights). The food is generally okay; burgers are your best bet, especially the Brickburger, topped with bacon, salami, onion, coleslaw, and cheese.
