This enormous new Clyde's, the latest in the local empire that includes a Georgetown branch, looks like Las Vegas from the outside. Inside, the two-level, 23,000-square-foot salon is filled with eye-catching oil paintings of sailing and equestrian scenes, Tiffany glass, and burnished cherry-wood furnishings. Three bars anchor the place, which is pretty much hopping every night of the week. As big as Clyde's is, it still gets crowded, especially before and after sports events at the Verizon Center, which is in the same block. Late-night prowlers will be happy to know that Clyde's stays open until 2am weekdays, 3am on weekends, with a late-night menu available daily until 1am.
