Whatever changes come to the Oval Office in 2008, chances are The Waldorf's Presidential Suite won't lose its masculine touch. In this 2,000-square-foot compound, it's sobriety over flamboyance; initially decked out with American colonial-style furnishings, it was redecorated in 1969 to resemble the White House and since then has reflected a traditional Georgian style. Every subsequent refurbishment has brought the ambience closer to that of White House décor. The spacious suite features President Dwight D. Eisenhower's desk, a smaller desk used by General Douglas MacArthur and President Kennedy's rocking chair.
