Formerly the Continental Hyatt House, the "Riot House" became such a notorious icon of the 1970s music scene that its Sunset Strip location became a mandatory stop for music-oriented films from Almost Famous to This Is Spinal Tap. The balconies were recently converted into glass-enclosed sunrooms, so you can't hold Axl Rose-style patio cookouts or hurl your TV to the pavement like Keith Richards, but the view of Los Angeles that once enticed Led Zeppelin to rent six entire floors remains.
