Frommer's Very Highly Recommended

The restaurant was built upon a former roadway bridge over the water of Ship Creek, a short but steep downhill walk from downtown, and some tables have pleasant water views. Many others are in a soothing dining room with warm colors and historic photographs. The menu is difficult to categorize, but includes plenty of Alaska seafood with Pacific influences -- for example, as appetizers, a crab and mango summer roll or beer tempura halibut. After several meals here, I've been drawn back by the memory of interesting flavors, truly exceptional service, and the pleasant ambience (although we never seem to get one of those waterside tables). But at each visit we've also had some dishes that went wrong, including, at worst, an alarmingly undercooked chicken that went back to the kitchen. With greater consistency, the place would have my unqualified recommendation.
