We love this place. A funky rustic tavern with personality to spare, Woody Creek is a true local hangout, and a favorite of late gonzo journalist (and one-time local) Hunter S. Thompson. Its walls are now covered with a variety of news clippings and other paraphernalia, much of it relating to Thompson. You'll find a good selection of well-prepared tavern food, including barbecued pork ribs, thick steaks, and burgers (made with low-fat Colorado limousine beef); plus fresh tilapia, organic salads, vegetarian (and organic when possible) soups, as well as excellent Mexican food, hot and spicy just like we like it, which goes well with the house-specialty drink -- fresh-squeezed lime-juice margaritas made with 100% blue-agave tequila.
