This longtime favorite is especially popular with the after-concert crowd. In a building dating from the 1400s, the establishment, in spite of its name, is more of a restaurant than a beer hall, although the decor is definitely in the beer-house tradition. The good food is familiar if you've been in Austria for a while: noodle casserole with ham in a cream sauce, breaded and fried filet of plaice or trout, veal goulash, and a spicy paprika salad with wurst and cheese. The food is well prepared and the portions are generous.
