This old clapboard-sided building dating from the early 1800s is the first place you're likely to see as you step off the ferryboat arriving from Eleuthera. Today, it's one of the island's most satisfying and authentic restaurants. Sometimes, eating here feels like attending an island dinner party. The menu has included at least three different preparations of grouper, fried scallops with a honey-pecan sauce, soft-shell or stone crabs, lobster tail, a variety of conch dishes, and a combination of feta cheese and shrimp marinara. Overall, it's an unpretentious, charming place, and the veranda provides a front-row seat for all the goings-on of Harbour Island. Some of the artifacts displayed on the walls here were salvaged from the local wreck of a ship called the Vanaheim.
