This is old-school tourist Banff. A pervasive veneer of the faux-rustic is the Grizzly House's shtick, and what a shtick it is. Goofy fonts, clapboard set deliberately askew, this is Banff at its theme-park best (or worst, depending on your perspective). Grizzly House is all about fondue -- cheese, chocolate, seafood, rattlesnake, frogs' legs, alligator, and buffalo. Steaks and game dishes are the Grizzly's other specialties. It's not for everybody, but for the been-there-done-that-got-the-T-shirt set (the Grizzly House sells those, and mugs, and an array of other tourist tchothke, all emblazoned with its goofy font) it's not a bad option, as the food is actually quite good.
