A popular tourist haunt, Harmonique is set in the courtyard of a century-old house and, despite the cramped space and unending clutter, it oozes character. The entrance to this ramshackle eatery is via Wat Meung Kae. There is courtyard seating, as well as small open-air dining areas, stuffed with fun bric-a-brac and ephemera. The cuisine is Thai, tailored to Western tastes -- the tom yam is delicious, served only as spicy as you like, and with enormous chunks of fish. The sizzling grilled seafood platter is nice and garlicky (chilies on the side). They also feature good Western desserts such as brownies, which are great with a cool tea on a hot day. This is a nice stop when you're touring the riverfront or visiting the antiques stores of nearby River City.
