Set close to the harbor, this is one of the finest seafood restaurants in Barcelona. In summer a terrace table here is as desirable a place to eat as anywhere in the port. The inviting interior is decorated in the rustic tavern style. Paintings line the walls, and the staff exudes a hospitable, friendly aura while they give excellent, if sometimes rushed, service. The food covers fairly familiar ground, but when it's good, it's good, and it can be very good indeed. The fish is fresh, bought each morning. Now open for some 4 decades, the restaurant still serves some of the best
sopa de pescado y marisco (fish and shellfish soup) in the area. Its sautéed squid is a heavenly meal in itself, or in the words of one diner: \"A day without
calamares is a day in hell.\"
Bacalao (dried cod) appears in a savory green sauce with little baby clams in their shells. Its paellas are as good as those served in the restaurants of Valencia, and their lobster bouillabaisse is extremely succulent.
