Atmospherically located in Barceloneta's harbor area, Can Solé still honors the traditions of this former fishing village. Many of the seafood joints here are too touristy for my taste, but this one is authentic and delivers good value. The decor is rustic and a bit raffish, with wine barrels, lots of noise, and excellent food. Begin with the sweet tiny clams or the cod cakes, or perhaps some bouillabaisse. Little langoustines are an eternal but expensive favorite, and everything is perfumed with fresh garlic. You might also sample one of the seafood-rich dishes. Desserts are so good they're worth saving room for, especially the orange pudding or the praline ice cream.
