With a conscious attempt to keep meals under R100 ($14/£7), this is hugely popular luncheon venue for locals, who come not only for the great food but the relaxing courtyard venue -- if you're here in summer book an outside table. The menu changes regularly, and is updated on the website so take a look to see if it suits; with luck the risotto of Italian summer truffle, asparagus, and auricchio cheese, made with a generous dash of the wine estate's bubbly will be back; if it's autumn the pork belly, served with a delicious parsley and mustard sauce, is a winner. The breadbasket is naturally exceptional -- you can purchase more at the estate's "farm grocer" along with the cured meats the estate is famous for.
