Not strictly vegetarian, Adam's Mountain Cafe is one of the best restaurants in the area for those seeking vegetarian or what we might call health food. Exposed brick and stone, antique tables and chairs, fresh flowers, and original works by a local artist create a country French-Victorian appearance. The menu includes grilled items, fresh fish, and many Mediterranean-style entrees. Breakfast specialties include orange-almond French toast, our top choice, and the P. W. Busboy Special, consisting of two whole-grain pancakes, two scrambled eggs, and slices of fresh fruit. Lunch offerings include sandwiches, soups, salads, fresh pasta, and Southwestern plates. Come dinner, we recommend the harvest crepes, packed with roasted butternut squash and finished with a vegetarian red chili, and the Caribbean jerked chicken.
