Chef-owner Eric Roeder serves up splendid interpretations of Gallic standbys (dubbing it "French soul food") at his intimate space on Larimer Square. The steak tartare, which we loved for its spicy kick and flavors of beef, onions, cumin, and sweet soy, is the perfect starting point. The menu changes regularly, but you can expect excellent seafood -- say, slow-roasted salmon with French lentils -- as well as a succulent seared duck breast and some creative game dishes. The salty-sweet steak frites (aka french fries) are also beloved by locals, and the side dishes and desserts don't disappoint. The patio is one of the best in Denver.
