From the outside, Bistro Rosa's gingham curtains and brass rails evoke a saloon. From the inside, the venue resembles a French bistro, complete with caricatures of pigs that bear vague resemblances to Toulouse-Lautrec, Goethe, and some of Germany's politicians. Although pork occasionally appears on the menu, a better bet may be duck breast with orange sauce. You don't have to wait for the holiday season to enjoy those old-time German favorites, such as roast goose with red cabbage and chestnuts, or roasted lamb in an herb-flavored crust. A more unusual dish is the breast of pheasant, a real delicacy, served with pineapple. Desserts include chocolate mousse or crème brûlée. In summer, a narrow terrace, separated from a parking lot with ivy-covered lattices, provides outdoor seating.
