Lydie Pache worked at Le Mahogany for many years before opening her little restaurant near the bridge in Pao Pao village. Ask for one of the bayside tables on the covered veranda; they look north toward the yachts anchored in Cook's Bay. As at Le Mahogany, she serves Cantonese Chinese dishes (less expensive here), but her best offerings are fresh seafood treated in the Mediterranean fashion. I was impressed with her poêlée, a mixed seafood casserole with butter, cream, and garlic. Paella and couscous appear here, too. Lydie brings a bowl of peanuts for munching before your first course arrives.
