The owner of this inventive restaurant grew to love the cuisine of India while based there for his carpet-exporting business. Returning to Istanbul, he discovered a way to combine the two unrelated activities in Dubb, an Indian restaurant housed in a beautifully restored Ottoman house doubling as a gallery for his most prized collection of Turkish carpets and kilims. The house is composed of four intimate levels, each painstakingly preserved and decorated, with a rooftop terrace view that makes you feel like the Ayasofya landed on your plate. Try the tandoori chicken and the spinach purée with feta cheese, and wash it all down with one of four types of flavored lassi (yogurt drink).
