The famous faces who flocked to this Mayfair eatery when it opened aren't seen too much anymore, but a clientele of Yankees patronizes the modern precincts, enjoying everything from macaroni and cheese to a soft-shell po'boy sandwich with fries. Some of the best U.S. beef in London is also offered, including New York strip sirloin. London food critics have called it "Mayfair's slice of the Big Apple," after digging into the crab cakes with guacamole or the chili con carne. Salad is a wedge of iceberg lettuce with blue cheese dressing. Perhaps the most popular item on the menu is the Automat hamburger with fries.
