Mediterranean flavor and old-world charm are vividly apparent upon entering this lively (read: noisy) family restaurant. Exposed brick, colorful tableware, high-beamed ceilings, and warm hues of deep red and golden yellow run throughout the sizeable open dining room. An eclectic mix of mismatched lighting and wooden farmhouse-style furnishings only add to the casual, comfortable feel. The large open kitchen raises the noise level a notch or two as does the pizza kitchen across the room, but that's all part of this restaurant's appeal. Start off with a sampling of Mediterranean dips with toasted pita, marinated olives, and almonds. Entrees might include oak-grilled salmon with roasted vegetable stew or lemon chicken with saffron orzo, baby spinach, and vine-ripened tomatoes. A respectable wine list has recently been added, including tableside sangria presentations. Note: During the peak summer tourist season, thanks to Spoodles' location on the BoardWalk, the wait for a table can be long, even with Advance Reservations, so this may not be the best option for famished families. Though there's plenty of indoor seating, try for a table on the small patio outside, so you can take in all of the action on the BoardWalk. Breakfast is also served daily.
