In this rustic-yet-chic restaurant, cement walls provide a striking contrast to dramatic draperies and softly glowing candles. Dishes are consistently good, with surprisingly moderate prices for the Pearl District. Be sure to start with the mix-and-match antipasto plate that might include chicken-liver mousse on crostini; roasted Meyer lemon stuffed with buffalo mozzarella; frittata with seasonal vegetables; and a salad of roasted fennel, blood orange, and chicken confit. The polenta with wild mushrooms and the seared chicken wrapped in prosciutto are long-time favorites here. This restaurant's aesthetic and menu are similar to Caffe Mingo's , but at Fratelli you can make reservations.
