A unique fusion of Austin, Prague, and the back streets of Bogota, Don Pedro has brought more fire to the often mundane Czech palate. This small and simply decorated storefront dining room on the riverfront in New Town (near the Jiráskuv bridge) is one part Czech pub, two parts tropical bodega. The menu ranges from Tex-Mex staples like quesadillas and chimichangas to more exotic Colombian fare with lots of steaks, fried yucca, and plantains. There are taster menus available for people to swap and share the dishes, including plenty of delicious guacamole -- relatively hard to find in these parts.
